Roger Bannister and the 4 Minute Mile;

Today an ad. This product will absolutely make you a better athlete!

May 6, 1954, even though all the physiologists said it was impossible, Roger Bannister ran a sub 4-minute mile. For Decades and decades and decades, no one came close to a 4-minute mile. Then John Landy broke Bannister’s record seven weeks later. In 1955, 34 people broke the 4-minute barrier. In 1965, Jim Ryan, a high school student, ran a 4-minute mile.

After Roger Bannister ran a four-minute mile, the mind got better. All of a sudden, people believed it could be done, and that’s the amazing power of your mind.

The thing you have to buy is an unlimited mind. Hang around people who have accomplished what you want to accomplish. If you want to do something, hang around with people who have done it.

Let’s get back to Roger Bannister, because right before the 1980’s Olympics, Roger Banister gave a talk. At that talk, he was asked, “How did you break the four-minute mile”

He replied, “I was a medical student, but I had this dream that I would be the first person to run a four-minute mile. I trained once a day by skipping a class.” Furthermore, he never trained for more than 45 minutes. The takeaway, it’s not how much time you put in, it’s what you put into the time.

There are a few life changing principles that Roger Banister can teach us. Just because you are in a rocking chair, don’t expect to go anywhere. In your life, are you active? Or are you an achiever?
