The 4-7-8 Exercise;

Thanks for following through to day three of the Spreadabl.com relaxation summit. We started by learning to relax each and every day. Then, we practiced becoming more present, and allowing our bodies to relax in segments. Today, we will learn the 4-7-8 Exercise.

Read through the exercise once, and then click here to go to Google stopwatch. Follow the timer as if if were a police officer directing you as you were driving.

Inhale through your nose for the count of 4. (4 sec.)

Hold for the count of 7. (11 sec.)

Exhale through your mouth for the count of 8. (19 sec.)

Do that four times today; for good measure, practice the exercise from yesterday too. Remember that everything takes practice, even learning to be present. Today is Saturday, but whatever day you are reading this, consider the ways that you can implement these practices in your everyday schedule. Each exercise takes only a minute, and the benefits are dramatic. Make the time, your body will thank you.
